As of October 2026 Dash Wizard corrects them on the vehicle, at your address: we scan the car, carry out the adjustment and check the reading is consistent before we leave. Mileage correction is legal in the UK; we ask for the reason and proof of the correct mileage, and the new keeper must be told if the car is sold.

A second-hand cluster arrives showing the donor car’s mileage, and a new one from the dealer starts from zero. Either way the odometer needs setting to the mileage your car has genuinely covered — on the A4 B9, Q5 FY and Q7 4M this is the most common job we see.
Upgrading an A3 8V, A4 B9 or A5 from analogue dials to the Virtual Cockpit means a new display unit with its own stored mileage. We set it to match the car so the retrofit is complete and the reading is right.
A replaced engine ECU or gateway, a flat battery or a wiring fault can leave the dashboard showing the wrong mileage, dashes or a reading that disagrees with the service record. We put the documented figure back.

On these cars the reading lives in more than one place, which is exactly why older equipment and send-away services struggle with them; we do the complete job in one visit and leave no sign that work has been carried out.

We come to you. The correction is carried out on the vehicle at your home, workplace or garage, 7 days a week, 8am–8pm. Nothing is posted away, so the car is not left with a hole in the dash and you are not waiting days for a courier.
Mileage correction is legal in the UK. It is an offence to sell a vehicle without telling the new keeper that the mileage has been adjusted. We ask every customer for the reason for the adjustment and proof of the correct mileage, and we never help disguise a vehicle’s true history.
The usual reasons are a replacement or used instrument cluster that shows the donor car’s mileage, a Virtual Cockpit retrofit or upgrade, a replaced engine ECU or gateway, or a reading corrupted by an electrical fault or a flat battery. In each case the true mileage is known and documented — the odometer simply needs to be set to match it.
From the A3 8V and the MLB evo generation onwards, the mileage is held in protected memory and in more than one control module, so older equipment cannot do the job. Our equipment has been updated to support these models, so the current Virtual Cockpit cars are now covered at your address.
Most Audi mileage corrections are completed at your address within the hour. We scan the car first, carry out the correction, then check the reading is consistent before we leave.
Your reg, a photo of the dashboard with the ignition on, the mileage the car should read, and something that evidences it — the V5C, service history, MOT history or the paperwork from the cluster or module that was replaced.

When a mobile service is not possible or simply not convenient, we have a postal service covering the whole of the UK. Once the speedo is received, we aim to have the correction carried out and the speedometer back in the post within 24 hours.
